CaseTask

Terms of use

Last updated 26 September 2026

These terms apply when a chamber uses CaseTask. Using it means accepting them.

The service

CaseTask provides a diary, matter files, client messaging and portal, fees and invoicing, court list checking and research tools for law chambers. We work to keep it available and correct, but it is provided as it is, and features change as the product improves.

It assists the lawyer; it does not replace them

  • Court lists are read from the courts' own publications and matched by case number. They can be late, incomplete or wrong. The court's own list and display board are the authority - always check them.
  • Research answers are drawn only from judgments and documents CaseTask can quote, and say so when they cannot answer. They are not legal advice, and a lawyer must read the source before relying on it.
  • Dates and outcomes read from a pasted order are shown with their source sentence for the lawyer to check before saving.
  • Nothing reaches a client unless someone in the chamber sends or shares it.

The chamber's responsibilities

  • Keep sign-in details private, and remove staff who leave.
  • Record and share only what it is entitled to, and have a lawful basis for its clients' information.
  • Follow the Bar Council of India's rules in how it uses messaging and client communication.
  • Not use CaseTask to break the law, overload it, or reach data that is not its own.

Your data

What a chamber enters belongs to the chamber. It can export it at any time. How we handle it is set out in the privacy notice.

Trials, plans and payment

A trial is free and needs no card. Plans are priced on the website and paid in advance, monthly or yearly; a paid period is not refunded part-way, but paying early never shortens it. If a plan lapses nothing is deleted or locked straight away: the chamber can still read and export its records.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, CaseTask is not liable for indirect loss, and its total liability to a chamber is limited to what that chamber paid in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes and disputes

We will give notice in the app before changing these terms in a way that matters. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
